03 July 2007 - Starving is trendy...
|
Starving is trendy, only for celebrities. The Babble Goons present Feeding Frenzy, the first single from their upcoming album Critical Condition. Scribe and HighDuke talk shit over ruthless HighDuke beat fit for a sacrificial ceremony, with DJ Grusm providing the cuts. Grema, our man in Austria is responsible for the mix. While Feeding Frenzy sets some of the tone for the rest of the album, form no judgments yet - Critical Condition approaches an array of themes through a consistently fresh sonic and lyrical soundscape.
For the first two years of their existence and for the purpose of the upcoming album, the Babble Goons consisted of HighDuke and Scribe, with HighDuke doubling as the group's producer. During the recording stages of Critical Condition, several successful collaborations with Earthquake Slick and DJ Grusm led to their induction into the Babble Goons. Following the release and promotion of Critical Condition, the four will throw themselves on a full length project with the new lineup.
Download, copy, listen, drink, scream, hooliganize, pet your hamster to the first official track from Critical Condition, and keep an eye on www.carskirez.com and myspace.com/babblegoons for more information about the album's progress and upcoming shows. - Babble Goons - Feeding Frenzy |

11. May 2007. - OUR BARF-DAY!
|
So here we are, a year since the official birth of the Carski Rez/Caesarean Cut imprint. A year filled with turbulence and problems, but also one full of highlights. Since the inception of the Architex, when Carski Rez was being considered as an album name only, the idea has developed into an independent hip hop label which gathers some of the best artists on the Serbian demo hip hop scene. After a considerable monetary and personal investment, we've managed to accomplish the following in the last year:
- Went from recording in a corner of kuer's apartment to a space dedicated to our state of the art studio with all the necessary equipment
- Released several albums (Spirit Blokovski, Mothaphonkin' Mjan, Promo01)
- Expanded from a local, Belgrade-based label to international level, both in terms of our artists and our quality of work
- Established ourselves as fierce live performers, and along with rap groups Bauk Squad and FTP, we've performed numerous times in the last year, averaging a show every three weeks
- Performed at the world-class EXIT06 music festival, which has attracted names such as Cypress Hill, Sage Francis, Kaiser Chiefs and Goldfrapp in the past
- Made Carski Rez a recognizable brand within hip hop circles, and will soon expand beyond these borders
- Perhaps most importantly, we hope that we've lived up to the expectations, whether at shows, the albums and the website.
In closing, thank you all for the support, and we assure you that throughout the next year you will see and hear a lot more from the entire Carski Rez roster. Cheers from Blokovski, Kuer, Mothaphonkinmjan, Sqb & The Easst, Baron, Babble Goons, Mirage, Ask, Mauzer. |

17. March 2007 ON THE SIXTH DAY...

16. March 2007. GET YOUR XMAS ON
|
Straight from the Duke's mouth to yo' brain:
quote (HighDuke):
Rest assured day 5 is a delicious day as another tune spews forth from the Caesarian incision. This time it's your boy HighDuke with a curious story taking place during the Christmas holidays. Now, it's a well known fact that most common citizens use the holidays for binge drinking, hooliganising, parading the streets and jammin' it up hardcore like the animals that they are. These activities inevitably drained the monetary supply of HighDuke's pockets and lead our tragicomic hero to the realisation that he's broke without a xmas present for his girl. After a short period of internal torment and thoughts of robbing the liquor store (or maybe the 7-11'll do), he realises diamonds, pearls, and expensive cars ain't shit compared to the sweet sounds of bumpin' beats and dope raps ... so get your Christmas on boyz 'n girlz: because this track is your present.

15. March 2007. STONE COLD CYBER
|
|
It's day the fourth and I lied when I said this week was showcasing previously unreleased tracks, but Baron's shit is so good it's worth being re-released. The song in question is "Svete Moj" entirely acted out by Baron, and could be found on his "Stone Cold Sajber EP" released several months ago. If you're not familiar with Baron's work, get familiar with the hyperactive boom bap conspiracy raps that have Bush and the Illuminati scrambling to do some major damage control. Don't look back, they're gaining on you! (But look to your right and grab the new track) |
